In 2009 since its creation, this project has documented Yucatec Maya Sign Language at the same time that it has researched specific traits of its development and grammatical characteristics. An YMSL Project’s goal is to document a highly endangered language at risk of disappearance. Through the registration of its features and usage, we can increase awareness of its existence as well as other native languages in Mexico.
