Along with the book’s presentation participants also had a discusion about contemporary indigenous literature with charge of Prof. Natalio Hernández, Nahuatl speaker and poet. Dr.Le Guen explained how the book is a tool that aims at promote the issues that concern emerging sign languages (specially, the Yucatec Maya Sign Language) and how communities in some places of the peninsula had been creating a visual system of communication in the conduct of their everyday life.
